Whats Happening to Bodybuilding ? Worlds top 4 bodybuilders have tummies!!

Bodybuilding is not just about size, its about symmetry, proportion , aesthetics, density of muscle.We all are big fan of bodybuilding and like to see our favourite bodybuilders posing on the stage. We admire them, worship them and want to be like them. Mr Olympia is the competition where worlds best bodybuilders compete. Over years the competition has become so intense that bodybuilders are trying to push the limit and trying to grow larger. As a result, size is getting more importance than aesthetics appeal. To maintain this size, bodybuilders are eating a lot,taking lots of supplements/drugs which results in fat stomach. Although they are working very hard at gym as well. But running after size ruining their aesthetic appeal.

Look at the top 4 contenders of Mr Olympia 2014, they are the best bodybuilders of the world. They are on stage competing for the biggest bodybuilding title. All all of them have fat stomach. Of course, they look the best when they hold their breath and stick in their stomach and  hit the pose. But as soon as the pose is over and they are normal again, we see huge stomach bulging out that does not look aesthetic at all.

This years fight is supposed to be between Phil Heath and Kai Green for Mr Olympia 2014 title. Both of them look great when they pose. They have huge fan followings, and we also acknowledge that they have put lots of hardwork behind this body. But the direction in which bodybuilding is moving is not correct. Take a closer look at these two on stage when they are not posing.

This was not the case with Iron age bodybuilding. Look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane , Kevin Levrone, Flex Wheeler , Lee Haney, Serge Nubert ,they all hand great body that were also aesthetically appealing. When people look at them, they would say we would love to have a body like this.

We hope to see this days come back and we soon they kind of bodybuilders on stage again. This is just our opinion and we do not want to hurt the feelings of any bodybuilding lover. If you feel different, then please leave comments below.

In this video, Arnold is talking about the Arnold Classic results. He talks about Cedric, how he is aesthetically more appealing as compare to other. He says that he should have been placed higher in the results. But the judging system seems to be just looking at the size and ignoring the aesthetics all together. Arnold also talks about some of the top bodybuilders have their stomach sticking out and they are not able to hold it in long enough on stage. He says that bodybuilders are supposed to have “V” shaped body, however these bodybuilder have a “Bottle” Shaped body. This the the same thing we are trying to highlight in this post. Probably Arnold cannot call out names but we are boldly putting the top four bodybuilder in the world on test. Arnold presses on the need to change the judging procedure to give the deserving bodybuilder higher positions. He talks about the old days of bodybuilding when steve reves won Mr Olympia. How even common man (non bodybuilding fan) would admire his body. But they wont say the same about the winner these days. Agreed that they look huge and have the biggest muscles. But they are not pleasing on the eye.

Lets join Arnold and call out to the judges to update their judging system and promote the deserving bodybuilders. Save Bodybuilding and Bring back the “Classic Bodybuilding”.
