Varinder Singh Ghuman is a very popular bodybuilder because of claims of being only world’s first vegetarian wrestler and bodybuilder. He will be making a foray into Bollywood with Kamal Sadanand’s upcoming film Roar – Tigers of the Sunderbans. When asked about how he landed the role from Salman Khan, Varinder Singh Ghuman revealed that Salman Khan spotted him while he was rehearsing for an action sequence with Allan Amin for his upcoming film Roar – Tiger of sunderban’s and decided to talk to him about his upcoming film.
He is also making inroads into world of movies. Kabbadi Once Again in Punjabi has hit the screens in August. Recently, he signed up with a Bollywood producer to do a Rambo kind of role and it is called Fateh. Varinder Ghuman is highly inspired by bodybuilding god – Arnold, and like him, he hopes to smoothly transition to the big screen, with a little bit of help from some acting coaches. He knows there is a tradition in Punjabi films, set off by wrestler Dara Singh (though not on his idol list), and that he is ideally suited to fill the muscle gap in Bollywood. At 6’2″ he could become a genuine Action Hero for the Indian audiences. For the moment though, JP Dutta, Ramgopal Verma, Anees Bamzee or whoever, will have to wait till he meets his dream of winning Mr. Olympia.
